Winter break. No school until January. Sounds good...yeah right! My to-do list is bigger now than during the semester. I have almost finished grading the final exams, have more than 70 business plans and marketing plans to grade and submit the grades by 5 P.M. tomorrow. I have two AIM classes to grade. I have seven more papers to write for my PhD class work, and I start a new class next Monday (my birthday, by the way). I started a new diet Sunday, and I'm a little cranky.
But... I'm so thankful to have a great job working with great people. I have the world's best wife and kids. Lani will be home Saturday, Lacey is coming home the 23rd, and Jesse will be here for a few days as well. Great times are ahead!
I'm looking forward to 2012. By the way, I don't believe the Mayan world will end in 2012 stuff. The Mayans probably just ran out of room on the rock they were scratching on. Think about it, when you buy a calendar at the mall, does it have thousands of years on it?
I'm excited about Spring Break this year. A large writers conference (Sleuthfest) is being held at the same time. So, I'm planning to head to Florida for a week or so early in March. My goal is to have my novel done and meet with an agent and publisher I met at the MysteryFlorida conference in Lido Key last year. After the conference I plan to keep going south to the keys to start on novel #2. More about the books later.
If you see me out and about somewhere would you sneak me a small piece of chocolate?
