Why King Lear and His Court Jesters?

I was first labeled "King Lear" by the Latin teacher at Gallia Academy High School in Gallipolis, Ohio. Not many others wanted to place me in a position of such power, but with a blog I have a choice. I hereby decree myself as King Lear, ruler of my royal domain.

Enter the jesters. Jesters were often thought of as fools, but in reality they were often cherished advisers to the king. Humor was used by the jesters to impart important advice to the king. The humor allowed the jester to be critical of the king and live to jest another day.

Even though in my circles I am closest to being a jester (joker), my family and friends serve in this capacity. I appreciate the wisdom I get from them. The posts made in this blog are my own wit, wisdom, and adventures, not approved by anyone. If I am off-base on my rants, you and I can read about it at the same time.

Enough about the blog's name. Here's why the blog:  Because I can...and because I want to. That's enough, but also I want to share my thoughts and adventures with you. As the famous philosopher Dr. Seuss once said, "Those who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter."

I can be opinionated...and I can be wrong. Let me know what you think.

Here we go...
